On April 3-8, 2023, Broomstones Curling Club in Wayland, Massachusetts, will welcome the nation’s top U21 curling teams to compete in the 2023 U.S. Junior Curling National Championships.

Q: Where is Broomstones?
A: Broomstones Curling Club is located in Wayland, MA, which is about 20 miles from downtown Boston, and 25 from Logan International Airport. The rink is at 1 Curling Lane, Wayland, MA (link to location). 

Q: Is there a tournament hotel?
A: We have reserved a block of rooms for Junior Nationals participants and their families at Hampton Inn by Hilton Boston in Natick, MA (link map, link to description). It is 5.9 miles south of Broomstones, and offers breakfast every day to those staying there. We highly recommend this location for all of our guests. The negotiated rate for Junior Nationals is $139/night. Q: Are there other hotel / lodging options?
A: The Boston metro area is full of other options, and teams are more than welcome to find those on their own. Searches centered around Wayland, MA will yield results. Please note: This is the Boston area, traffic is a constant problem getting to and from things, so please allow time for that when selecting options outside of those suggested.

Q: What’s the general timeline for the event?

Q: When will my team practice?
A: USA Curling will provide details on team practice times closer to the event start date

Q: What is the Junior Nationals Banquet?
A: Broomstones will host the athletes for a get together prior to the start of the event at a site to be announced in the next month. This has been a specific request from the athletes to get an opportunity to socialize with one another during the event. In consultation with many advisors, JN’23 has decided to do this the night before the event at a convenient location.

Q: Can parents / coaches / extended family / etc. attend the Banquet?
A: No. The intent is to focus on the athletes at this event and to give them the chance to socialize with one another without oversight. This, too, has been a specific request of the athletes.

Q: Will food be served during the event?
A: The Junior National Championships are not a bonspiel, in that food service is not included as part of the fee. However, food may be available for purchase at the rink during the event, but this is at the discretion of Broomstones.
